Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) (https://acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com/)and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) (https://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/)are powerful approaches for processing and re-framing traumatic memories.
The key difference between these therapies and traditional talk therapy is the use of Bilateral Stimulation (BLS)—a rhythmic, alternating stimulus such as eye movements, taps, or sounds that engage both sides of the brain. BLS helps your brain process and integrate distressing memories, reducing their emotional intensity. This allows you to retain the wisdom of painful experiences while releasing the pain.
Our approach is holistic, integrative, and person-centered, combining evidence-based therapies with somatic and creative practices to support healing of the mind, body, and spirit. We prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental space, guided by three core principles:
• Trauma-Informed Care: Recognizing the pervasive impact of trauma, we prioritize safety, emotional regulation, and respect while addressing complex, intergenerational, and identity-based trauma.
• Culturally-Responsive Care: We honor your cultural background, values, and lived experiences, offering culturally attuned care that empowers and supports your healing journey.
• Creativity as Healing: When words are not enough we use our senses. Whether through sound healing, drawing, writing, mindfulness, or movement, we use creative expression as a transformative tool to reconnect the body and mind, foster safety, and spark joy.
Blending Western psychotherapy with Eastern traditions, we help you release trauma, build resilience, and reconnect with your authentic self. Together, we’ll create a therapeutic experience that is compassionate, empowering, and tailored to you.
Culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy means honoring the unique identities and experiences of each client, including their cultural, racial, socio-economic, gender, and sexual identities. We approach therapy with an understanding of how trauma impacts the mind and body, creating a safe space that prioritizes empowerment, compassion, and respect for your individual journey.
